Staff Specialist - Fort Knox, Kentucky
Functions at a headquarters location (Brigade, Region or HQCC) are:
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to staff sections and subordinate units of the command, in accordance with the terms of the contract, Army regulations, and Cadet Command regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Independently plan and organize processes involved in completing assigned projects within command policies and objectives, in support of the command and its mission.
- Prepare correspondence required for general office operations following established Department of the Army formats (Army Regulation (AR) 25-50 Preparing and Managing Correspondence). Located in www.usapa.army.mil.
- Prepare oral and written presentations using prescribed formats. Government will provide sample formats upon start of services. These formats are supported by standard commercial software, primarily Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- Provide analysis and recommendations for development and implementation of command policies and procedures.
- Provide services for dissemination and implementation of command policies.
- Provide support to LTC and LDAC and assist with FTXs.
- Requirements and Qualifications:
• Maintain a neat, well groomed appearance. Duty attire is civilian clothing.
• Pass periodic, unannounced, Government administered drug screening tests.
• Have a favorable National Agency Check/Local Agency Check (NAC/LAC) per AR 380-67 Personnel Security Program.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher
- Prior knowledge of the federal government's organizational structure, mission objectives, functions, procedures, agency regulations and policies desired but not required.
- Possess computer skills with IBM compatible PCs, to include initialization, operation of Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics programs, performance of user maintenance using supplied user manuals, Windows environments, operation of modems, and familiarity with email and internet environments and operations.
- ADDITONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBCONTRACT PERSONNEL
- Drive GSA vehicles provided it is only driven for official Cadet Command purposes. The contractor must possess adequate insurance to cover injury or damages resulting from contractor use of these GSA vehicles. The contractor must have in place controls to ensure that contractor employees who use GSA vehicles do so for official purposes only.
- Some physical effort such as walking, stooping, bending and carrying moderately heavy items may be required.
- The contractor may be required to provide instructional support as a subject matter expert at various Cadet Command sponsored courses or conferences.
- Non-Uniformed Contractor Employees, Contract personnel serving as Administrative Technicians, Logistics Technicians and Staff Specialists are required to present a neat and well-groomed appearance. Duty attire is civilian clothing.
